The inventor and CEO is Richard Dean Kawka. The Fairway Golf Buddy idea was conceived in 2008. He then applied for a patent in 2009 and he was issued patent No. 8,196,250 on June 12, 2012. The next two years were devoted towards research and development. In 2014 The fairway Golf Buddy was formed as a Georgia LLC and in 2016 was incorporated as a S-corporation. We are an American company located in Powder Springs Ga. We use American manufacturers and American material suppliers. We sell directly to our “Golfing Customers’ & the Golf Product Distributors through this website.

 

Dick Kawka
Inventor, President, Owner

As inventor, president and owner, Dick Kawka has been instrumental in all phases of The Fairway Golf Buddy development from concept to the final product.  He has 18 years of manufacturing experience in product cost, industrial engineering, and corporate sales.  

He was part of various development companies who built resort complexes from the Florida Keys to the Alabama gulf coast.

He is a Real Estate broker and has owned and worked for several R/E companies in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.  Dick has retired but will be instrumental in implementing “The Fairway Golf Buddy” company for the future business of the “Buddy”.

James Mauro
Vice President, Owner

James Mauro enjoyed a 30-year career in international product management, marketing, and public relations for the world’s largest manufacturer of printing presses and related systems before embarking on his second career as a professional photographer. His former career earned him the respect of his peers and an uncompromised reputation for communication, customer satisfaction, and the marketing of multimillion-dollar systems. Combining his experience in marketing with his life-long knowledge of photography and photographic composition, his work as a professional photographer has been well received and published in both print and digitally produced international and domestic publications. An avid cyclist, James also enjoys playing golf and has had the opportunity to photograph several events and the renowned East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta, GA.

James is a graduate of Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC, where he received his BA degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He is a member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, and is a member in good standing of the Professional Photographers of America
